Nyt år, ny have/ New Year, new garden

Happy New Year! I hope you had a great party. I had a lot of fun – but also a lot (too much) of vodka, so yesterday was not filled with energy.

I did manage to take a few pictures, though.

My newyear-garden-goal is to document, through pictures and notes, how my garden looks and develops through the year. So here is the first garden picture of the year.

It almost looks like spring, but that was just yesterday. Today it has been dark and cold and with flurries in the air, and you can certainly tell that it’s winter. The rose in the front of the picture is called Sommerwind  and is the only flower I have seen blooming in my garden yet – including when I first saw it in July! But then it still blooms in January…

Very soon you’ll get a throurough presentation of my new playground, but for now I’ll let you now that it consist mostly of (way too) long grass and a lot of trees that noone planned, but noone removed either. And then of course Sommerwind and the giant rhododendron

  1. Sommerwind is actually not spelled weirdly. It is just a proper German word🙂 meaning as you have guessed summerwind.

    The link isn’t working btw.🙂

    happy new year!

  2. aaah, so that explained it. I tried to fix the link, but it just goes to the main page – I can’t link directly to Sommerwind roses….

  4. De rosenknopper ser helt friske ud! Skørt, her i Januar!

  6. Very pretty roses. I’m looking forward to seeing your garden progress, and I’m a big fan of Rhododenrons, did you know they originate in Tibet?
